Ganesha is the Lord of arts and sciences, and is honored at the start of rituals and ceremonies. He is also commonly referred to as Ganapati or Vinayaka. Chaturthi is a widely celebrated festival in India, honoring Lord Ganesha. He is known by 108 different names and is considered the supreme source of knowledge, wisdom, and fortune. The festival is celebrated with energy and devotion across India, marking the birth of Lord Ganesha.
Ganesh Chaturthi Navratri (9 Days Puja)
Nine Days of Ganesh Chaturthi Navaratri Pooja are worshipped, to keep away nine types of evil characters within us.
- 1st Day of Puja – Bala Ganapati Puja – to get rid of ‘Matsara’
- 2nd Day of Puja – Taruna Ganapati puja – to keep away “Madha”
- 3rd Day of Puja – Shakti Ganapati Puja – to get rid of “Moha”
- 4th Day of Puja – Santhana Ganapati Puja – to keep away “Lobha”
- 5th Day of Puja – Ucchishta Ganapati Puja – to stay away from “Krodha”
- 6th Day of Puja – Lakshmi Ganapati Puja – to get rid of “Kama”
- 7th Day of Puja – Vijaya Ganapati Puja – to get rid of “Paasha”
- 8th Day of Puja – Maha Ganapati Puja – to get rid of “Aham”
